Facebook is the world’s largest social network – almost 3 billion active users monthly. If you want to leverage Facebook Ads to get your message in front of exactly the right segment of those people, this checklist should help.
1. Create a Facebook Ads account
Go to https://www.facebook.com/business/tools/ads-manager and click on the “Go to Ads Manager” button. Set up your information and payment method.
2. Creating ad
In the Ads Manager dashboard, click on the green “Create” button in the top left corner to create your first ad campaign.
3. Objective
If you are looking for leads – choose lead generation as your objective – it will allow your visitors to fill up a form with their contact information.
4. Audience
Configure your target audience based on popular criteria such as location, age, interest, work, and interest.
5. Budget
Use a daily budget if you want your ads to run throughout the day. And use a lifetime budget if you are running your ads for a specified time frame.
6. Bidding
You can set optimal bids using objectives, clicks, or impressions. You can also opt for manual bidding to take full control over how much you want to pay per action.
7. Schedule
You can run the ad immediately or customize start and end dates or specific hours and days of the week.
8. Ads
- Image Ads - You have two options: Links or Carousels. If you have one image, use a link. Use Carousels if you have multiple images (up to 3-5 images). Take note of the number of characters. For Links, Ads headline is 25 characters and the text is 125 characters. Carousel has 40 characters for headlines and 125 characters for text.
- Video Ads - Video ads can run in the News Feed and Stories. They can show your team or your product in action
9. Display
Identify how you would like to display your ads – desktop news feed, a mobile news feed, and desktop right column. The news feed display format is most popular.
10. Performance report
Ads reporting allows you to create, customize, export, share, and schedule a report based on the parameters you choose.
